Easy Install - Step-by-Step Process

1. Open trunk and remove the rear trunk panel that covers the backside of the trunk keyhole. This is the panel behind the rear lights.
2. Locate the 5-wire actuator.
   ** Note In some late model BMWs the actuator will be located in the trunk lid.
3. If you have a negative system connect your test light to a ground.
4. If you have a positive system connect your test light to power.
5. Probe all five wires from your actuator to determine the lock and unlock wires.
6. If you come to a wire that locks your doors then you have found the lock wire.
7. Connect the white/green wire from the keyless entry unit to this wire.
8. If you come to a wire that unlocks your doors then you have found the unlock wire.
9. Connect the white/red wire from the keyless entry unit to this wire.
10. From the keyless entry unit connect the black wire to the body ground or body metal.
11. From the keyless entry unit connect the red wire to a constant 12 volts power supply.
12. Unwrap the black antenna and position vertically.
13. Code learn all remotes to the receiver.
    
14. How do you code learn a remote? Unplug the receiver, plug-in the receiver and within 3 seconds push button 1 from remote 1 then button 1 from remote 2 and wait 20 seconds. ** Note Do not hold down buttons or push buttons at the same time.
